Els Pets

Els Pets (Catalan meaning literally "The farts") is a group of Catalan Rock, led by Lluís Gavaldà, originally from the village of Constantí (Tarragona).In addition to the own Gavaldà, singer, guitarist and main songwriter, Els Pets is formed by Joan Reig on drums and Falin Cáceres bass.


 In the first two albums guitarist Ramon Vidal was also member of the group. With the founding trio, often playing three bandmates: Jordi Picazos (guitar and mandolin), Marc fats (guitar and vocals) and Joan Pau Chaves (keyboards).They began their career under the label agricultural rock, devised by the journalist Pep Blay. From its beginnings, the Group assumed its origins of regions claiming a rock with denomination of origin not urban. 


In June 1991 he participated in the mega delPalau Sant Jordi, with goat soup, Sau and Sangtraït, considered the climax of the phenomenon of the 'Catalan rock'.[citation required] Songs like 'I came to la festa' and ' Tarragona m 'esborrona' became very popular hits to the surprise of the group, who had been baptized with the name Els Pets (the farts) thinking it wouldn't last more than a few weeks.After the boom of rock in Catalan, "Els Pets" held the rate with their third album "Fruits Secs" and especially the fourth, "Brut nature", where the group begins to show some new signs of identity: manners letters and more quality in the sound, without neglecting their most protest lyrics. "Jo vull ser rei", for example, is a song which, by way of criticism of the monarchy, expresses the desire of the group carry the same life as the King or the Prince.
